Wishing and Waiting

According to the countdown feature on my cellphone I have 54 days, 15 hours, and 35 minutes until I walk into Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX as the Astros fall intern in Media Relations. Once again, I'm really looking forward to the opportunity. I want to work hard and be the best intern that I can be as well as the best they have had in a long time. I am hoping that with the networking that will be done helps to land me a permanent job with a Major League team somewhere in the United States (Toronto would be okay but the whole foreign deal would be a hassle I assume). The director of my graduate Sport Mgmt program hammered into our heads the idea of networking & that everything in the business world is networking, so here's to networking and I hope it works for me.
In the meantime, between now and the upcoming 54 days I am hoping to land a temporary web design job that will help to pay for plane tickets for my wife who will be flying back and forth often from DC to Houston to see my shining face.

I think my cousin might still work for the Astros. His name is Mike Parrott. Last I remember (many years ago), he had a management job somewhere in the organization. I went to see several games (for free) at the old AstroDome when I was a youngster.
