Rotten Rita

As I write this i am currently in College Station, TX where I am staying with some family for an undisclosed amount of time while Hurricane Rita decides what she wants to do the the Gulf Coast. I left Houston after work yesterday around 2:45 and crept along the 290 at 20 miles an hour until I hit highway 6 where I was able to go 70 mph the rest of the way here to College Station.

I'm sure that we will still feel some raining and some high-speed winds here in College Station but it shouldn't be as bad as if I was still in Houston.

Growing up in Southern California I grew accustomed to small earthquakes but it is interesting to be a part of a hurricane scare.

Right now they are saying that the 'cane should hook towards the SW Louisiana area - which is bad for the people of New Orleans but good for us in Houston. We'll have to wait and see though.

Hopefully everything will be okay for me and my family members. More will be updated lately.

Good luck with all that. Watching it on TV from up here -- just incredible.
