Baby Names - Hoping For A Girl
Posted by Nathan & Valerie at 11:44 PM |
Valerie had a doctor's appointment the other day in Virginia. She is using the same doctor that helped her brother's wife with her recent twins. Today Valerie hit 16 weeks. They measured baby PARIS SITE'S heartbeat and it registered at 147 beats per minute. Everything good there.
We will most likely find out if PARIS SITE is a girl or a boy (in that case he'll be devastated to find out I referred to him as PARIS - although Paris was a historical character in the battle of Troy, played by Orlando Bloom in the movie TROY). I'm still thinking it's a girl and hoping so because Valerie and I have agreed on a girl name but not a boy name.
Prior to today's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, I perused a lengthy list of baby boy names, with the intent on selecting a few that I liked. Tough job. I made some highlights on ones that I liked but for some reason it is tough for me to like most guy names without being too unoriginal (Mike, Tom, Dick, Harry - okay maybe not the last two) or going the Biblical route that a lot of people use (Matt, Luke, Joshua, Adam, Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz).
Hopefully soon I will be able to figure out a boy name I like. Nah, hopefully soon we'll find out the baby is a girl and Valerie and I can use the name we've chosen.
AND WE ARE NOT TELLING ANYBODY WHAT IT IS YET SO DO NOT ASK!!!!!
We are scheduled to have "the" ultrasound on Thursday, May 1.
(That should save me from getting a lot of emails asking that question).
Once Valerie and I whittle down the baby name list (providing it's a boy), we will be glad to ask for family votes -- not saying that we would chose the winner, but it may help us make up our minds.
Till then.....

If you two named your child Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz, i'm calling him Baz for short. You have my vote on this one. Although Adam works well too.
Where are the pictures of Val and the baby bump??? I want to see!
It's good that you are not telling any one the name that you like because inevitably someone will try to talk you out of it or discourage you. But I think that Sherri Lynn is a cute name. ;o)
My next doctor's visit is May 1. We can get the ultrasound done before then-- I just need to schedule the appt.
