OFF TO THE HOSPITAL!
Posted by Nathan & Valerie at 6:34 AM |
This morning Valerie woke me up by telling me that she thought her water had broken around 6:30 a.m. (all times Eastern). After consulting our baby guru, our sister-in-law Rachael, and calling a resident doctor on-call, we decided to pack up the remaining things we needed to pack and head off to the hospital!
The crazy thing is: she hasn't had a single contraction yet! Bizarre! We're hoping that they don't have to do pitocin as it speeds things up too fast and doesn't allow your body to naturally release endorphins which help with relaxation of all muscles involved so as to prevent any unnecessary tearing. I think that's her biggest fear: an episiotomy.

Good Luck-- I can't wait to hear how things go. Your pitocim issue has probably been resolved by now(9:00 am....but tell Valerie I had pitocin with my 3rd baby. It was not too bad. Things did happen rather quickly. September 4th is my son's birthday...a good day for giving birth.
